Vitamin K supplementation has been shown to have a positive impact on bone density and reducing calcium loss. One study demonstrated a reduction in calcium loss by up to 50% in osteoporotic individuals. Osteocalcin, the most abundant non-collagenous protein in bone, is vitamin K dependant. Osteocalcin (puts calcium into bones) is synthesized by osteoblasts (bone building cells) during bone matrix formation and incorporated in the bone. Additionally, osteocalcin acts as a regulator of bone mineralization.

Usage:
Each drop of Bio-K Mulsion supplies 500 mcg (625% Daily Value) of vitamin K (as K1-phytonadione), micro-emulsified for greater bioavailability. This is particularly important for those with malabsorption syndromes, as they tend to be vitamin K deficient.

Precautions:
Vitamin K has blood clotting properties and should not be used by those who are taking blood thinners such as COUMADIN. Those taking Warfarin should avoid supplementation with Vitamin K unless specifically recommended and monitored by their physician. Pregnant and nursing mothers should avoid supplemental intakes higher tham the RDA (65 mcg) unless specifically recommended and monitored by their physician.
1 drop:

Vitamin K (as K1-phytonadione) 500 mcg
