  
Boswellia serrata is an Ayurvedic herb that has a long history of use for connective tissue and joint support.  Boswellic acids, the active terpenoid constituents of Boswellia, may reduce the activity of the enzyme 5-lipoxygenase, maintaining healthy leukotriene metabolism.  In addition, boswellic acids may reduce the synthesis of the human leukocyte elastase enzyme.  The combination of these two actions is believed to be unique to boswellia.  As a result of its effect on 5-lipoxygenase, boswellia also plays a key role in supporting colon health.  As opposed to NSAIDs, long-term use of boswellia does not lead to irritation of the stomach.  Boswellia extract, standardized to contain 85% boswellic acids, promotes healthy joint, connective tissue and colon function primarily by maintaining normal leukotriene levels.
Ingredients per capsule:
Boswellic Acids 300 mg
(from 429 mg.  of a standardized extract of boswellia serrata gum resin containing to 70% boswellic acids)
vitamin C (as ascorbyl palmitate) 10 mg
Other ingredients: vegetable capsule
Suggested Use:
As a dietary supplement, take 2 capsules daily, in divided doses, between meals.
