Supports Glucose Metabolism*
Blood Sugar Support*
Patent-Pending Formula

HOW PATIENTS MAY BENEFIT

  • Cinnamon supports glucose metabolism and blood sugar levels*
  • Blueberry Leaf Extract provides antioxidant support*
  • Biotin helps support carbohydrate, protein, and fat metabolism*

PRODUCT DISCUSSION
Glucose metabolism can be a concern for people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. This unique, patent-pending combination of Cinnamon, Nopal Cactus (Nopalactin), and Blueberry Leaf Extract has been scientifically designed to support glucose metabolism and maintain healthy blood sugar levels already within a normal range.*

STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION
Cinnamon is an ancient herb that has been used for thousands of years and has an expansive range of historical uses in many different cultures. It naturally contains the important compounds eugenol and cinnamaldehyde, and has been traditionally used for wellness. Cinnamon has been shown to enhance in vitro glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis and to increase phosphorylation of the insulin receptor; moreover, Cinnamon extracts are likely to aid in triggering the insulin cascade system.* Research indicates that as a supplement, Cinnamon helps support sugar and fat metabolism in the body.*

The blueberry plant is a natural source of anthocyanins and chlorogenic acid. These phytochemicals have antioxidant properties that may help neutralize cell-damaging free radicals.* Free radicals can contribute to oxidative stress, which in turn may contribute to the premature aging of cells. Blueberries have one of the highest oxygen radical absorbance capacities (ORAC) of any fruits and vegetables, meaning that they are rich in antioxidant compounds.*

Nopal Cactus is the young stem segment of prickly pear, carefully peeled to remove the spines. It is native to Mexico. Nopal Cactus has a long history of traditional use for promoting internal wellness due to its natural compounds.

The daily dose of PhysioLogics Glycemic Complex provides a rich source of Biotin, which helps support carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism.*

CLINICAL EVIDENCE

  • In a randomized placebo-controlled, clinical trial, 60 men and women were given 1, 3, or 6 g of cinnamon daily or matching placebo for 40 days. After 40 days, those in the cinnamon group had significantly improved scores in glucose metabolic parameters. There were no changes seen in the placebo group. This trial demonstrated that all three doses of cinnamon effectively supported sugar and fat metabolism, which can have implications in heart health. (Khan et al, 2003)
  • In an in-vitro study, when researchers measured the antioxidant value of different fruits, blueberry was found to have the highest TAC (Total Antioxidant Capacity) as compared to other fruits like blackberry, strawberry, raspberry and many more. (Wu et al, 2004)

SUMMARY
Glycemic Complex is a patent-pending formula designed to support blood sugar levels already in a normal range while providing further support for fat and protein metabolism.* This unique formula also helps to fight the cell-damaging effects of free radicals.*

SUGGESTED DOSAGE
For adults, take two (2) capsule three times daily, or follow the advice of your health care professional.
