Iodoral® is a tablet containing 5mg iodine and 7.5mg iodide as the potassium salt. To prevent gastric irritation, the iodine/iodide preparation is absorbed into a colloidal silica excipient; and to eliminate the unpleasant taste of iodine, the tablets are coated with a thin film of pharmaceutical glaze.
Recommended Dosage: After testing for deficiency in Iodine, the suggested dosage to acheive whole body sufficiency is 2 Iodoral® tablets in the morning and 2 in the evening. A retest is suggested after 3 months. Once whole body sufficiency is acheived the Iodoral® maintenance dosage is 1-4 tablets daily. Persons with Thyroid disorders should work closely with their health care professional.
